Stage 4. Shotgun, Pistol.
This was one of the involved and elaborate field stages in the fantastic natural terrain of the
NRAWC. The shooter started up a gully with 10 shot targets, two interspersed slug targets. About
2/3 the way up the hill, the shooter transitioned to pistol and engaged another bunch of pistol
targets in the woods. Stage planning was critical, and several shooters on our squad made mistakes
which resulted in non-engaged targets, backtracking, or misses.
Stage 5. Pistol, Rifle. Stage five started with several rifle steel within 200 yards and some rifle paper. After ditching his rifle, the shooter used two pick-up revolvers to engage close-range steel with a gun in each hand. Next, he used his own pistol to run up about a 50-yard path with both paper and steel reactive targts. |
